Weekly Grocery Helps!

I really enjoy trying to get good deals.

One of the ways that I try and keep my families budget in line is by price matching at Walmart.

Walmart will match any competitors ad, except for percentages off and buy one get ones. They will also take coupons for price matched items. This makes it a little easier to get some of those great deals!

A few other points: They will match any stores ad within a 10 mile radius. I have also discovered that the Walmart in the LaFronteria shopping center is a little cheaper than the one on old 183 and 1431, and on the way home I stop at Sprouts! :)

I like shopping at Sprouts, but I usually don't price match their ads because I just go buy their product..it's superior to anything I could get at Walmart! Sprouts also does double ad days on Wednesday!

So, with this knowledge I search the weekly ads and determine what I will price match...and based on those prices..I sometimes determine what we will have for dinners the following week.

This allows me to incorporate old favorites and new dinners at a reasonable price.

Someone suggested that I post this and let you guys see what I do. So, I am going to give you the good deals I found in this weeks ads, as well as what I would do for dinners with those ads. I am not going to give recipes but if you would like any of them leave a comment with your email address and I will get them to you. I do not do anything complicated for dinners- I do all easy dinners!

So this week I would price match! ( also check the pricing because sometimes Walmart is still cheaper!)

From HEB!
Frozen Boneless Chicken Breast in a 3lb. bag- $1.29lb. (price match generic for generic)
80% lean ground beef $2.27lb. ( this fat content may seem high, so I drain it and then rinse it!)
Split bone-in Chicken Breast $.99lb.

Of these options I would choose the $.99lb. bone in chicken. I would buy shake n'bake and do baked chicken. Or you could also bake it and make BBQ Chicken from it as well. Buy extra or have any leftovers? Take the chicken off the bone, shred it, mix in some more BBQ sauce and use for BBQ chicken sandwiches, or use for BBQ chicken potatoes!

Price match from Randalls!
Jennio Ground Turkey Breast $1.99lb.
Rice krispie or Froot Loop Cereal 12 oz. box $1.99
Pork Loin Chops $1.49/lb.
Progressio Soups $1.11 ea.
Quaker Chewy Granola Bars $.99 a box. ( great for snacks or 72 hour kits)
Ore-ida Potatoes $1.99
Yoplait Adult Multi packs of yogurt $2.99
Hot Dog and Hamburger Buns $.89 ( Buy this week and freeze them for later)
Wish-Bone Salad Dressing $.99 16 oz.
Pace Picante Sauce 24 oz. $1.99
Nabisco Graham Crackers or Oreos. 2/$5.00

At Sprouts!
Fancy Eggplant .$69 each. (Buy 2 and make Eggplant Parmigiana)
Broccoli Florets $.88.lb. ( Make Broccoli Pasta! Huge hit with my kids, 6 ingredient dinner, easy, and you can add some of that chicken or not!)
Vine Ripe Tomatoes $.88lb. ( Make my favorite Cappalleni Pomodoro! YUMMO!)
Beef Roasts are 50% off! Buy some, and make pot roast on Sunday or my other favorite Spicy Italian Beef! Think Philly Cheese Steak but Spicy and it's easy in the crock pot!)

So there you have it all the deals I found for the week! Hope it helps!

AND if you know of any other deals leave a comment...let's help us all out. Everyone would like to save a buck or two buying those things we have to buy anyway! :)
